Marie Catherine Joesting

Marie Catherine Joesting was born April 4, 1923 in Atchison County, MO, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Broermann) Sickman.  She married Paul Holliway May 29, 1943 in Lawton, OK.  Paul died February 9, 1978.  She married Lee Joesting December 2, 1981 in Orange County, CA.  Lee died November 18, 2008.  Marie and Paul formerly lived in Rock Port, MO before moving to Nebraska City in 1956.  Marie and Lee lived in Nebraska City and Auburn and enjoyed wintering in Arizona.  She worked as a bookkeeper at various businesses over the years.  Marie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City and a former member of P.E.O.  She loved to crochet and work jigsaw puzzles.  Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Hultman and her husband Steven of Lithia, FL; granddaughter, Sarah Lindbeck and her husband Troy of Marietta, GA; sister, Louise Wilson of Holdrege, NE; brother, Marion Sickman and his wife Miriam of Fountain Valley, CA; many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carl and both husbands.  Marie died April 10, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln, NE at the age of 89 years and 6 days.

    I will truly miss Marie, the friendly smile she always had, and simple conversations.  My thoughts and prayers to the family, I know what it is like loosing a grandma.
