Ruth Mae Viox was born July 9, 1930 in Nebraska City, the daughter of Ernest and Margaret (Neels) Griepenstroh. She married Fred A. Viox December 28, 1949 at Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City. Fred died January 15, 2012. Ruth worked at Woolworth’s in Nebraska City for 30 years and she also worked as a tour guide at Arbor Lodge before she retired. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and loved to cook and bake. She always enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Alan (Linda) Viox of Nebraska City; Lynn (Vicki) Viox of Norfolk and Diane (John) Schreiter of Nebraska City; 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Laurene Bando of Nebraska City; sister-in-law, Kathleen Griepenstroh of Nebraska City; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Esther Morris and brother, Arlen Griepenstroh. Ruth died January 3, 2021 at Morton Place Assisted Living at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 24 days.
